Discover Cuzco, the ancient Inca capital, and the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Then, journey to mysterious Machu Picchu. We travel to the fabled "Lost City" by train, so we're able to spend three more days in Cuzco and the Sacred Valley of the Incas than those who choose the Classic Inca Trail Trek. This allows us additional time to explore the ruins around Cuzco, including the great Inca fortress of Sacsayhuaman. We'll meet with a local healer who will offer individual readings and share special divination tools for restoring health. At the Temples of the Sun and of the Moon and in the ruins of Kenko, Tambo Machay and Puka Pukara we'll be treated to special, ancient Andean music and we'll have time to meditate and celebrate the spiritual significance of each place. In the Sacred Valley of the Incas, we'll visit the famous market at Pisac, the charming towns of Yucay and Urubamba, and the historic town of Ollantaytambo, which rests upon the original Inca walls and foundations. At the ruins of Machu Picchu, we'll have a special sunrise ceremony to honor Mother Earth and other sacred elements of nature. Our guides will teach us about the history and wonders of the site, and will take us on an optional day hike. We'll also visit the famous Gold Museum in Lima where we'll see Inca and pre-Inca relics and artifacts as we complete our Peruvian journey.
